我校舉行初中高端英語項目演講決賽TED Talks Competition

12月19日下午，我校初中高端英語項目演講決賽TED Talks Competition在國瑞廳隆重舉行,。本次比賽旨在提高我校學(xué)生英語演講能力，營造濃厚英語學(xué)習(xí)氛圍,激勵更多的學(xué)生愛英語,、愛表達,。初一、初二,、初三高端英語項目班級共計三百余名學(xué)生在外教課上進行了演講比賽初選,，最終有9名同學(xué)代表年級進入了本次決賽。我校黨總支書記張繼軍,、副校長楊磊和部分家長代表全程觀摩了本次比賽,。
比賽環(huán)節(jié)包括自命題演講和即興問答。選手們演講主題新穎,、頗具思想深度,，主題涉獵范圍廣，涵蓋全球變暖,、地球知識,、美洲大陸的發(fā)現(xiàn)過程、心中英雄,、南極動物,、電子音樂、動漫,、電影等內(nèi)容,。參賽選手在六名外籍教師和多名中教的細(xì)心指導(dǎo)下，以飽滿的自信,、多樣的演講風(fēng)格,、流暢的語言給所有初中高端英語項目的學(xué)生們帶來了一場聽覺盛宴。
最激動人心的環(huán)節(jié)要數(shù)即興問答環(huán)節(jié)：每位選手在完成演講后,，由外教就演講話題即興提問。選手們妙語連珠,、睿智應(yīng)對,，臺下的觀眾頻頻發(fā)出熱烈的掌聲和歡呼聲。
本次比賽邀請了高端英語項目六位外籍教師Mr. Sean、Mr. Zucker,、Mrs. Emily,、Mr.Blake、Mr. Harris,、Mr. Amar擔(dān)任評委,。選手們慷慨激昂的演講和緊張的提問環(huán)節(jié)使得現(xiàn)場的氣氛十分熱烈。評委們依據(jù)選手的語言基本功,、演講激情和臺風(fēng),、演講內(nèi)容及回答問題等具體情況給予綜合評價。經(jīng)過激烈的角逐和嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)?shù)脑u審,，最終評委們頒布比賽結(jié)果,。
初三10班苗樂祺榮獲一等獎。
初二9班 沈歆然,、初二2班 張一涵 榮獲二等獎,。
初一2班 益安來、初一1班 周瑞,、初二1班 劉祖銘榮獲三等獎,；
初一6班 劉鎧瑞 榮獲最佳PPT獎；初二3班 于惠澤榮獲最佳表現(xiàn)獎,；初一3班 王文興榮獲最具潛質(zhì)獎,。
外教Mr. Harris對選手們的表現(xiàn)進行總結(jié)發(fā)言。Mr.Harris讓觀眾把掌聲送給發(fā)表了精彩演講的學(xué)生,、送給辛苦指導(dǎo)的老師,、送給今天的TED talks演講展示舞臺，并重點點評了學(xué)生話題的選擇,，使學(xué)生更明確了自己的責(zé)任意識,、愛運動、愛地球,、有夢想,、有擔(dān)當(dāng)。他還鼓勵更多的學(xué)生參與到這樣的展示活動中來,，同時也表示會在接下來的教學(xué)中,，繼續(xù)為學(xué)生創(chuàng)造更多的英語演講展示機會，進一步提高同學(xué)們的演講展示能力,，期待同學(xué)們在今后會有更精彩的表現(xiàn),。
此外，初中高端英語項目負(fù)責(zé)人張麗君主任為本學(xué)期在線閱讀表現(xiàn)突出的同學(xué)頒發(fā)了“閱讀之星”獎,。她展示了優(yōu)秀學(xué)生的閱讀記錄,，希望激勵更多的學(xué)生多讀多看多聽多說,，全面提高自己的英語水平，鼓勵學(xué)生們做具有中國情懷,、高端英語視野的復(fù)合型人才,。
本次活動采取TED talks演講的比賽形式，不僅僅增進了高端英語班師生之前的交流,，鍛煉了同學(xué)們的演講能力,，也讓同學(xué)們站在一定的高度理解學(xué)習(xí)和生活，明確自己的夢想和責(zé)任,，引發(fā)了聽眾的思考與熱情,。比賽賽出了風(fēng)格，賽出了水平,，更賽出了我校初中高端英語項目學(xué)生的魅力和風(fēng)采,。

Yesterday, I had my first TED talk presentation. Other students and I have practiced hard for two weeks, just for a great show.
Although we practiced and prepared hard, I was still nervous before the competition. The light was on, it was so bright, I became more scared. My hands were shaking. But finally I made it. I became calm down since I practiced a lot under the guidance of my teachers. I heard the applause from my other students and teachers. I was so happy and proud at that time.
Last, I won the third price. From that, I knew how to be confident, and how to make a great speech. As the famous saying goes: Practice makes perfect!

Thank you for the opportunity that our school offered to us. The TED talks made me more confident than before and made me become interested in speaking. I really appreciate our teachers’ help and patience. During the rehearsals I gained more speaking skills and I gained the courage to stand in front of the classmates. Even though I just won the third prize, I believe that this will make a big difference in my school life.

Today, I finished my final presentation and won the first price. I think the praises and award should belong to both of my Chinese and foreign teachers. Since we have been trained together by teachers for weeks and I won’t be able to do this alone.
At the very beginning, just a think of giving speech in front of hundreds of people made me feel nervous, there were many problems in my presentation too. The time was too long, the ppt didn’t work well, my script was full of grammar mistakes, I had no idea how to make gestures and eye contact…
However, My teachers trained me patiently, step by step. I came to my foreign teacher Miss Emily’s office during the breaks and lunchtime. We fixed my ppt and rewrote my script. I went to rehearsal every day，listened and learned from teachers advices. After that I talked to the mirror by myself when I was at home. I improved day by day, getting more and more familiar and confident to my presentation, and overcame the fear at last.
I did not only make rapid and brilliant progress in my presentation skills, but also inside, I became more confident and more composed. This will be an unforgettable experience for me,！
At last I want to say thank you for Miss Emily, Cora, Ellen and all teachers who helped during the preparation stage.
