近日,,來自澳大利亞的外語(yǔ)教學(xué)課程顧問 Marcella 女士與我校外教專家團(tuán)隊(duì)就小學(xué)高端英語(yǔ)課程進(jìn)行了深入的研討,。
Recently, Ms. Marcella, the curriculum specialist in English teaching from Australia, has conducted an in-depth discussion about our Elementary High-end English Program with our group of professional foreign teachers.
在會(huì)議的開始,,大家對(duì)開學(xué)幾周以來一年級(jí)高端英語(yǔ)課程的實(shí)施情況進(jìn)行了回顧與總結(jié),。其中一位在英語(yǔ)本土國(guó)家擁有十余年小學(xué)全科教學(xué)經(jīng)驗(yàn)的外教專家提到,,由于大部分學(xué)生已具備一定的英語(yǔ)基礎(chǔ),,該課程的開展與實(shí)施比預(yù)想中更加順利,,尤其是5(語(yǔ)言課)+3(學(xué)科融合課)課程模式中的三節(jié)學(xué)科融合課,。學(xué)生在純外語(yǔ)環(huán)境下學(xué)習(xí)音樂,、體育、科學(xué),、美術(shù),,他們的積極性高,新鮮感強(qiáng),,上課的專注度和參與度都超出了預(yù)想,。外教專家也預(yù)測(cè)到,這樣的狀態(tài)將會(huì)為下學(xué)期學(xué)生開始用英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)更加專業(yè)的學(xué)科知識(shí)與技能奠定堅(jiān)實(shí)的基礎(chǔ),。
At the beginning of the meeting, we reviewed the first few weeks of the first-grade high-end English course. One of our native English-speaking foreign teachers, with over ten-year teaching experience in primary school, mentioned that since most students already have some pre-existing English language skills, the development and implementation of the course went smoother than expected, especially that of the three subject integration course in the “ 5 English Language Classes and 3 Applied English Classes ”. Students have shown their great passion and excitement in learning music, sports, science, and art in a pure foreign language environment. Their concentration and participation during the lessons exceeded the teachers’ expectations. Foreign teachers also foresaw that it would lay a solid foundation for students to learn more professional subject knowledge and skills in English for the next semester.
在談到學(xué)生使用外教講義與練習(xí)冊(cè)的情況時(shí),,課程顧問對(duì)外教專家統(tǒng)一存放教學(xué)資源,使用時(shí)再進(jìn)行分發(fā)的方法表示認(rèn)同,。 顧問說道,,因?yàn)閮和幵趶挠變簣@過渡到小學(xué)一年級(jí)的階段,隨著課程增多和上課模式的巨大變化,,他們經(jīng)常會(huì)出現(xiàn)忘帶或混帶教學(xué)資源的情況,,導(dǎo)致教師的正常教學(xué)秩序與學(xué)生漸進(jìn)性的學(xué)習(xí)模式受到影響。而統(tǒng)一存放和分發(fā)使用教學(xué)資源的做法,,不僅可以避免這種情況的發(fā)生,,還有利于學(xué)生培養(yǎng)管理收納學(xué)習(xí)用品的好習(xí)慣。此外,,外教專家提到,,除現(xiàn)成的講義與練習(xí)冊(cè),學(xué)生在課堂上還會(huì)完成由教師事先根據(jù)學(xué)生情況而設(shè)計(jì)的作業(yè)紙和活動(dòng)任務(wù)單,,這類資源也將被匯集成冊(cè),。每位學(xué)生都將擁有屬于自己的學(xué)習(xí)記錄袋,形成體現(xiàn)個(gè)性化學(xué)習(xí)成果的學(xué)生作品集,,并統(tǒng)一存放,,在學(xué)期或?qū)W年結(jié)束后下發(fā)。課程顧問對(duì)此做法表示強(qiáng)烈贊同,,并稱這樣的作品集,,記錄了學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)過程,見證著學(xué)生成長(zhǎng)的點(diǎn)滴,,對(duì)于學(xué)生來說價(jià)值和意義非凡,。
When it came to the use of handbooks and workbooks, Ms. Marcella agreed on the unified management and distribution of the teaching resources, which our foreign teachers are composing. She said that as children are in transition from kindergarten to being first grade primary school students; with the number of courses increasing and the transition from the kindergarten classroom to primary school classes, they would forget to bring their books or bring the wrong books, which will affect the teaching plan and hinder the progressive learning of the students. Keeping materials in school and distributing them when in need could help prevent that problem. Moreover, doing this could help students to develop their own organization. In addition, foreign teachers mentioned that besides the handbooks and workbooks, students will also complete the worksheets based on their ability. Their worksheets will also be compiled into an individualized scrapbook and portfolio for each student. We will give them back to the parents at the end of the semester or at the end of the school year. The specialist couldn’t agree more on this approach and argued that “Such a collection of students’ work will show the students’ learning process and their growth throughout the year. It is of great value and significance.”
為了更加了解學(xué)生的整體認(rèn)知與英文水平,以便制定更貼合孩子實(shí)際情況的教學(xué)方法,,課程顧問還對(duì)外教課進(jìn)行了觀摩,,并提出了有針對(duì)性的意見和改進(jìn)方案,如設(shè)立鼓勵(lì)孩子學(xué)習(xí)信心,激發(fā)孩子學(xué)習(xí)興趣的獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)機(jī)制,。同時(shí)她還強(qiáng)調(diào)課后針對(duì)每個(gè)學(xué)生的課堂表現(xiàn)做個(gè)性化評(píng)價(jià)與培養(yǎng)策略制定以及進(jìn)行分層教學(xué)的重要性,。
Secondly, for a better understanding of students’ recognition and English levels to better tailor the program to them, the curriculum specialist has observed the foreign teachers’ classes and made some suggestions and strategies. For instance, she suggested implementing a rewarding system to encourage students to learn while arousing their interest in learning. Meanwhile, she has also emphasized the importance of stratified teaching and post-class individualized assessment and cultivation strategies.
同時(shí),課程顧問還就講義中內(nèi)容的延展,,教授方法,,以及教學(xué)輔助材料的使用提出了自己多樣化的建議。她要求小學(xué)高端英語(yǔ)課程的老師們要保證每周定時(shí)進(jìn)行教研活動(dòng),,互通有無,,保證國(guó)際課程內(nèi)容的統(tǒng)一性,教學(xué)方法的科學(xué)性,,教學(xué)活動(dòng)與材料的多樣性,,以達(dá)到讓孩子們?cè)谪S富多彩的課堂學(xué)習(xí)活動(dòng)中自然習(xí)得語(yǔ)言與知識(shí)技能的目的。
In the meantime, for teachers’ reference, the expert gave a lot of advice about expanding teaching content, teaching methods and using auxiliary materials. She also suggested a weekly feedback session for sharing thoughts and opinions to ensure the teaching methods and content is the same throughout the program. This can ensure that children can improve their English and other skills.
