為了培養(yǎng)并激發(fā)學生的閱讀興趣,，使學生們樂于讀書,、勤于讀書并從小養(yǎng)成良好的英語閱讀習慣，我校于3月6日至4月6日開展了為期一個月的自主閱讀活動,，初一,、初二全體學生參與其中,，同學們積極閱讀了很多優(yōu)秀的英文書籍，并寫了書評參與比賽,。下面選登初二年級部分獲獎作品,。作者分別為初二3班的金儒薇（一等獎）、初二2班的楊婉希（一等獎）和初二2班的郭天穎（二等獎）,。
Reading Report

I read a book calledSHERLOCK HOLMESin the holiday. The author of this book is Arthur Conan Doyle.The protagonist Holmes himself calls himself a" consulting detective", that is to say when other private detective or some difficulties to help.
Most of the stories are about some of the more difficult, requiring Holmes to go out to investigate the case. Holmes is good at through observation and deductive method to solve the problem. Conan Doyle is from his apprentice in the Royal Edinburgh hospital an observant of the teacher's body get inspiration, created the character of Holmes. Holmes not only cool-headed, keen observation, reasoning ability; also, his fencing, boxing and violin level is quite high.
In my opinion, the most interesting part in this book isthe sign of the four.July 7, 1887-- when the story begins, Holmes is shot7% cocaine solution. His behavior has been a long time. Watson strongly opposes. Lady Moss Holmes's visit, to seek help. Her mother when she was very little has died, and her father is inIndia, British officer. She has been for many years not seen his father, years ago, she was sent to a boarding school. About ten years ago, her father for leave to return toEngland. In December 3, 1878, she received a letter telegram from father, said he had come to a hotel inLondon, to her in the past. But when she arrived at the hotel, want and reunion when that day, but was told that her father before the arrival of a day has gone, and never came back. Holmes used He used his one's ability and cleverness in solving the case.
I like the story because of the wonderful words vividly brought me into the process of all kinds of difficulties and Holmes is how to overcome all the difficulties in the way. This process is be struck with fright. Finally solve the mystery is very excited, a load discharged.
This book taught me a lesson: we should learn to observe the small details in our life. Just like Sherlock Holmes. Although we are not smart as Holmes we will still find something in our life.
The Old Man and the Sea

As we all know,The Old Man and the Seais a famous book wrote by Ernest Hemingway, I read this book this week and I began to know the meaning of braveness.
“He was an old man who fished alone in a skiff in theGulf Streamand he had gone eighty-four days now without taking a fish.” The book began in this way. The old man was a fish man, he began to fish at a very young age and he never thought to change his job. It’s true that he is old, too old to sail in the sea and to catch fish. “The blotches ran well down the sides of his face and his hands had the deep-creased scars from handling heavy fish on the cords. But none of these scars were fresh. They were as old as erosions in a fishless desert.”
His only friend was a little boy who had just begun to fish, the boy was lucky enough to catch fish everyday, the old man wasn’t.
The old man went on for another trip, and he had the feeling that he can catch a big fish this time. Indeed, he caught it, that enormous fish, after a hard fight.
The old man had waited for this day for a long time, so he felt really tired, like he didn’t sleep for a life time.
But not all stories have happy endings, sharks came, they ate the fish.
The old man was a brave person, a tough person, he didn’t afraid of the dangerous, dark sea, he loved it, and he felt his part of it. He didn’t afraid of all the challenges. But as he became older, he began to feel his weakness. How can a person face all the things in life? I bet he asked himself for many times. And that’s when the big fish came.
From a side, the big fish is himself. The old man fought with the fish for many days. He didn’t hate the fish at all; he loved it and respected it. The only reason he had to catch the fish is he felt he had too. The life forced him to fight with it. And at last, he won.
But as the sharks came, the old man fell down; he thought he can never stand up again.
The old man came back to the town after disappearing all these days. The boy cried when he saw the bone of the fish. He went to the cabin of the old man and took care of him. The old man was never tough anymore, and the boy would grow, when he was older, I believe he would become a dauntless for sure. He would have a fantastic life with the fishing skill taught by the old man. Life is always a circle.
In the end, the old man dreamed about lions again, just like what he had told the little boy. “He was still sleeping on his face and the boy was sitting by him watching him. The old man was dreaming about the lions.”
Most people think these sentences mean the old man died, but that’s not my opinion. How can a person like that die during his sleep? How can a spirit like that disappear form the land,？
Alicein wonderland

I read a book calledAlicein wonderland. It is a story about a girl calledAliceand her amazing trip. It was written by Lewis Carroll. In the story except for Alice there are still some important characters, such as the white rabbit, the Dodo, the Lory, the Eaglet, the duck, Pat, talking flowers and bug, a smoking caterpillar and a playing card with a crane for a club and a hedgehog for a ball, etc.
My favorite part is whenAliceis chasing the rabbit and becoming big and small. And in the courseAlicemet many weird characters and asked them who she was and where she is. I think it doesn’t make me that distressed in this part, and it is quite interesting, and of course except for the amnesia.
I think Alice’s life is full of setbacks, and at the end of the story, she killed the dragon, saved the under land world and drank the dragon’s blood and got back to the place she belong, she refused the cold marriage and followed her dad’s dream, she told his dad to do his business in China, then she flew to China and look for her true love , but she separate with her friend which she met in the wonderland. Actually, I don’t really like this ending, but I guess it has its meaning inside. And after I read this story I learned a lot. I realized that if you stick to your own dream, and insist on beautiful things, you will be strong and powerful. Do what you want to do, be what you want to be, if not you can not create your own story. And I found the playful of the writer, and I found my happiness, and now I know what I should do.
