初中英語(yǔ)國(guó)際項(xiàng)目外教公開(kāi)展示課系列一:科學(xué)課

10月22日,英語(yǔ)外教Ms. Emily進(jìn)行了公開(kāi)展示課,,給我們帶來(lái)了一堂生動(dòng)有趣的科學(xué)課,。初中國(guó)際項(xiàng)目負(fù)責(zé)人張麗君和組內(nèi)外教及英語(yǔ)組教師進(jìn)行了觀(guān)摩聽(tīng)課,。
Ms. Emily展示了一些精美的美食圖片讓學(xué)生進(jìn)行分類(lèi),學(xué)生們把美食分成了主食,、甜點(diǎn)和蔬果類(lèi)。教師問(wèn):“如若是把這些食物都分成一類(lèi)呢,?”那么答案就是“Sugar”,,這樣十分巧妙地引出了本節(jié)課的話(huà)題“Sugar is everywhere.”為了讓學(xué)生更好地理解文章內(nèi)容,,Ms. Emily用簡(jiǎn)筆畫(huà)、圖片,、例舉生活中的實(shí)例或者“paraphrase”非常形象地解釋術(shù)語(yǔ)和較難的名詞,,排除了生詞障礙。接著教師通過(guò)設(shè)計(jì)不同的學(xué)習(xí)任務(wù),,讓學(xué)生明白了什么是“Sugar”,,它在我們身體中有什么樣的作用。還讓學(xué)生明白了生活中常見(jiàn)的哪些食物中含有糖分,,太多的糖分會(huì)給我們?nèi)梭w帶來(lái)什么樣的危害,,我們應(yīng)該怎么樣去避免這樣的情況?任務(wù)一環(huán)扣一環(huán),,既調(diào)動(dòng)了學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)興趣也培養(yǎng)了學(xué)生的邏輯思維能力,。在上課過(guò)程中,教師和學(xué)生非常自然的互動(dòng),,能通過(guò)啟發(fā),、例舉、提問(wèn)或反問(wèn)等引導(dǎo)并激發(fā)學(xué)生思維,,并通過(guò)小組競(jìng)爭(zhēng)的方式有效地促進(jìn)了學(xué)生的課堂參與度,。
課后張麗君帶領(lǐng)所有聽(tīng)課老師就本節(jié)科學(xué)課進(jìn)行了深入的研討和點(diǎn)評(píng),大家紛紛就本節(jié)課的亮點(diǎn)和改進(jìn)點(diǎn)發(fā)表了自己的看法,。本次活動(dòng)全程錄像并在資料組內(nèi)共享,,作為后續(xù)學(xué)習(xí)提高的資源。本次外教公開(kāi)課活動(dòng)使中外教一起共同就具體課型進(jìn)行了學(xué)習(xí)和討論,,促進(jìn)了我校中外籍教師的專(zhuān)業(yè)素養(yǎng)和教學(xué)基本功的提升,,同時(shí)對(duì)促進(jìn)國(guó)際項(xiàng)目教師們的自我發(fā)展的內(nèi)驅(qū)力起著非常重要的作用。

Reflection on Open Class

The open class went very well when the day came. The class was about “Sugar, Sugar, Everywhere” for science, and the students were well-behaved and interested in the lesson material. I was very fortunate to do my open class with Class 3A1. All the students are excellent learners and work hard.
The lesson went well. I was able to pace it well, so that we finished everything we needed to in the allotted time. We also got to do different things like a warm-up, vocabulary practice, an initial reading task, and a critical thinking question, so the students paid attention during the whole class. I felt that the class as a whole went well: I accomplished my objectives, the students stayed on task, and they were able to use what they learned.
Afterwards, I was given some feedback that was very helpful. I need to work more on my blackboard presentation, and I need to tie the lesson together better in the end. That way the students have more of an overview of the lesson and can remember it long after we have finished the lesson. I also can do a better job of helping the students repeatedly use the vocabulary, so that it is ground into their memory. Hopefully, I can improve on these areas by the next open class.
