Mid-Autumn Festival is also known as August Festival or Reunion Festival. It is on August 15th of lunar calendar, and it is in the middle of autumn.
The festival originated in the early years of Tang Dynasty and became more popular in the following Song Dynasty. Mid-Autumn Festival is also a traditional festival in some east and southeast Asian countries, as they are influenced by Chinese culture. The local Chinese people and overseas Chinese people both celebrate it.
Since ancient times, Mid-Autumn Festival has had the custom of appreciating the moon, worshiping the moon, eating moon cakes, and drinking the osmanthus flower wine.
